Machines & Unlocks Guide

Think of machines as one production chain, not separate gadgets: the Citrus Juicer makes concentrate, the Mixer changes its taste/effect profile, the Final Station finishes it with water, the Juice Tank stores the sale batch, and the Dishwashing Station restores the cups needed to serve customers. Expand capacity only after your sales loop can use it.
Core early machines
| Machine / station | Job | When it blocks you |
|---|---|---|
| Citrus Juicer | Converts citrus fruit into concentrate | You cannot start orange/lemon production |
| Final Station | Combines concentrate with water into a finished drink | Mixed concentrate cannot become sellable juice |
| Dishwashing Station | Cleans used cups | You have product but no serving container |
| Mixer | Adds sugar/herbs/spices and changes tags | You cannot satisfy more complex preferences |
| Juice Tank Shelf | Holds extra tanks | One recipe at a time becomes too restrictive |
The official Steam description confirms that later growth includes new recipes, machines, properties and workers, so the early chain is a foundation rather than the whole workshop.
Do not confuse capacity with progression
An extra tank is valuable because it lets you carry different recipes at once. It is not valuable if you still do not know who will buy those recipes. The same principle applies to workers and bigger properties: first prove the loop, then automate it.
Grandpa’s letters matter
The story/tutorial uses mail to introduce new business ideas and machine designs. Check the mailbox before assuming a missing machine is bugged or hidden in a random shop. Several playthroughs receive a letter explaining the next Mixer step immediately after completing the first customer day.
Water is the quiet bottleneck
Water is used during finishing and washing. If both your Final Station and sink feel “broken” at the same time, check water before reinstalling or replacing anything.
