East Dock Village Guide: Early Progression in Medieval Juice Crafter

East Dock is your onboarding village and first business test. Use the rented room as your production base, the well as your water source, and the customer panel to convert local prospects. The meaningful progression sequence is basic citrus sales → rent/mail → Mixer → preference matching → higher local satisfaction and a larger customer base.
What matters in East Dock
You arrive by ship, meet Jack, rent a small workspace, place the starting machines and immediately learn the three systems that will follow you into later villages: production, local customers and property costs.
Your production base
The rented room is where you place early machines. Jack’s opening dialogue tells you rent is due, and later objectives make the payment system explicit.
The well
Water is not scenery. It feeds the finishing station and dishwashing. Refill before a long production run so you do not walk back and forth with half-complete batches.
Ingredient sellers
The early footage identifies dedicated sellers for lemon, orange, mint, sugar and cups. Seller availability is part of your route planning; do not buy a whole market’s stock before you know the customer you are trying to satisfy.
A clean East Dock progression route
- Complete the first orange/lemon tutorial production.
- Convert the first free-sample customers.
- Wash the used cups and refill water.
- Pay rent when the objective appears.
- Read Grandpa’s letter and follow the new machine objective.
- Buy/place the Mixer from Harry the Carpenter when prompted.
- Use the Customers panel to track Maximus and other named targets.
- Match taste/effect requirements rather than selling one generic juice to everybody.
- Use Find Customer when the growth objective asks for more prospects.
Some pre-release footage displays exact satisfaction/customer-count thresholds. Those numbers are intentionally not treated as permanent here because a launch patch can rebalance progression without changing the route above.
Jack is more than “the landlord upstairs”
Auto-captioned footage identifies him as Jack the Hat Maker. If a quest asks for Jack and the door situation is confusing, check the current objective/marker and daily availability before assuming the save is broken; “Jack at East Dock Village” is a recurring Steam Community question.
